Default Lightweight bass drums

Does anyone have experience with very lightweight bass drums?

Looking to purchase two new ones to replace 15 year old Premiers (weigh about 22 pounds) with something as light as possible.

There seems to be some very lightweight drums in use in drum corps type bands, but not sure if anyone has used them in pipe bands.

Also, harnesses that don't necessarily go over your shoulder but maybe strap to your body so the weight of the rum isn't hanging off your shoulders but more to your whole upper body.

Any advice would be appreciated

Default Re: Lightweight bass drums

We bought a bass from Mark Humphrey... less than half the weight of our 28" Premier. No regrets!
