I was thinking about getting this little beast, but the Piper's Hut link is dead. Any ideas where I can get one

Link works for me. Just received four new chanter reeds from them, so still in business.

Cheers -

quite so, their overall link works but they are not displaying the BlowHard link any longer and a site search yields nothing. Sooo, who else carries it?

Or you could make something like this, which costs less than the Blowhard & has more uses:

Purchase 6" of vinyl tubing, with 1/2" outside diameter / 3/8" inside diameter.

Then buy a 3/8-Inch X 3/8-Inch Fl Brass Straight or 90 Needle Valve:

https://www.amazon.com/LASCO-17-1631.../dp/B008E5C7NG

Cut off two pieces of tubing, one 1 3/4" an inch long and another a bit shorter. You can taylor the lengths to your preference. Thread them on each side of the needle valve. Place one end on the mouth piece of your chanter, and blow through the other. You can adjust the pressure by opening & closing the valve. You can make any practice chanter as hard to blow as the hardest set of pipes.

I'm in the process of setting up a goose that uses two needle valves;
One in a rubber stopper that has a hole in it, that goes in a drone stock. Opening & closing this will simulate the air loss of the drone reeds.
One in the chanter stock, that regulates pressure to the practice chanter reed.
The hope is that I can reproduce the pressure required to simulate the amount used on a full set of pipes.
