Default Interesting use of Canntaireachd

Well I have a new Corgi puppy, Yipes! Chew, Chew, Chew, hop, hop, hop, bink, bink, bink, whew just how wiggly can one creature be? How do I put him to sleep when it is time to go nighty night? Well I have found out the secret nocturnal weapon! Sing piobaireachd using canntaireachd! Works every time! Mr. Owein Hopkins-Jones, aka Jonesy, is a sucker for canntaireachd sung low and slow. A few minutes of this and he is snoring and relaxed. Perhaps this is because he finds the music boring, he is Welsh after all. but perhaps he finds it soothing. I think the latter. He doesn't respond to tunes like the Massacre of Glen Coe or a Flame of Wrath but he does snooze to the Old Woman's Lullaby and Lament for the Only Son. Two minutes of canntaireachd and Jonsey is crashed. See piobaireachd does have its practical uses. I wonder if this works for human babies?

Brings back fond memories of my pembroke corgi who went by the name Canis Rufus Hirsutus Cambro-Britanicus or simply Puck for short. I got very good a piping and kicking a ball for him at the same time.

It works very well for human babies as well. Years ago I used to sing my children to sleep singing canntaireachd.
They both liked The Old Woman's Lullaby best.
