Default Need new cane tubes!

Greetings all, it's been awhile!
Well the summers over and the leaves are starting to turn color here in upstate NY, so its time to get the materials needed to make chanter reeds. The cane that I've been using is over 30 years old and last winter I had a hard time getting good reeds (high failure rate). They worked hard and seemed dry and often cracked while completing the last 5% of tuning.
I would be very appreciative if you folks could inform me of current reliable cane tube sources.
SOMETHING NEW! My instructor & I have teamed up as a smallpipe and Mandolin duet. I started with the mandolin this past winter and we are performing a number of Irish and Scottish standards at local open mic. venues. Both the pipes and Mando go great together and it's a lot of fun when the audience is tapping their toes and singing the chorus!
Happy Trails

Ron, if you look up woodwind cane suppliers, what you want is bassoon cane tubes. Bassoonists go through a fair amount of it so it should be easy to mail order, and it's not expensive.

Ron, I have a list of double-reed suppliers somewhere- about 20 websites. but the ones I used the most were Charles https://www.charlesmusic.com/. and Chartierhttp://www.chartierreeds.com/

Ted Anderson is very well known for the quality of his cane...
