Hello Keith,
Quite unexpectedly I was given the opportunity to purchase the Glen Barr pastoral pipe, and I should receive it very soon. Both surviving MacDonald pastoral sets are now united, both being very different in their construction. Though they are indeed a "wreck" the pipes are probably nearly complete, though missing bits and pieces here and there, e. g. the chanter foot joint, with broken tuning pins and misplaced mounts. I don't know if the set is restorable or if it should be kept in as found condition but it would be very interesting to find out more about its tonal properties. I'll keep you informed.
