Ebay photo: PM John Massey
Interesting that this photo pops up on Ebay from time to time.
https://www.ebay.com/itm/FOUND-COLOR...p2056016.l4276 I'm sure that it's Pipe Major John Massey during the time he led the Los Angeles Police Pipe Band. They also maintained Full Dress with feather bonnets etc but as you see they competed in more comfortable outfits. I don't have the programmes in front of me now, but as I recall it would have been around 1982 that he took the LAPD to the Worlds. Though I think I see what might be a fuzzy palm tree in the background, so it could be at a local California contest.
