... and only just over 10 years since this thread was last active, you can now hear a bit of the home phonograph recording of GS from 1894. It's on the GS McLennan website at http://gsmclennan.co.uk/museum/artefacts/recording.

William Donaldson was also wrong re broadcasting. GS did broadcast on the BBC but being in the 1920's no recordings were made.
