Default Reed recommendation

My wife is giving me a Cocobolo MacLellan MAC-1 solo chanter for Christmas.

Any personal experience on reeds?

My pipes are 12-year old Wallace ABW Classic 4s.

Tks

What; no surprise gift? In any event, you'll get a ton of recommendations. I'll start with one of my favorites: G1 Platinum. Happy Christmas!

He said it varies ... I think he wanted to stay neutral. Good business answer.

Chesney all the way. Played one in a pal's MacLellan chanter a while ago and it was awesome. Stable, crispy and clear.
Cheers,
Austin
