Default Re: Tinnitus

Greetings to All,

Having somehow missed this Tread before... and now
having carefully read my way through it... three quite
possible factors occur to me for this syndrome... and
they are empirical... as well as theoretical.

The first is just plain... and simple... genetics... and the
possibility... of a familial pre-disposition... for the malady.

The second is... and of course... environmental.

The first is... and of course... self-evident.

The second is... perhaps a bit more tricky... to ascertain...
as some here recount... great and sustained ... onslaughts
to their hearing from helicopters, rifles (grenades & mortars?)
and the like... as well as from acute civilian industrial sources.
And... some have the "ringing"... and some do not... and many
seemingly quite irrespective... of ear plugs... used... or not...

Which now leads... to a third (possible) factor... in that it may
all be... just a possible... combination... or combinations... of
the first two.

Any way it comes... it ain't no fun... and if it doesn't... then
that's just one more mortal bullet... gratefully dodged...

Regards, and Good Luck... to All,

My friends all know,
With what a brave carouse...

Yeah, sometimes I hear the bass drone resonating through my shoulder, but at least it's not blasting my ear.

An addendum to my previous posting, in 2016 -- most of the tinnitus in my left ear has mostly gone away. Why that is, I don't know.

I still use earplugs religiously when playing the pipes.
