Detroit's Corktown Parade was canceled today.
I have two parties for the weekend that may be canceled.
Not even sure about doing my gigs on St Patrick's Day, itself.
I am a caretaker for an 86 year old. Losing the St Patrick's Day paycheck may be rough, but not as much as losing my mum.

The Clan Gordon Tartan Ball was cancelled by Governor Inslee. Also several St. Patrick's Day Parades were canceled in Washington State.

Greetings to All... and... a Caution ... to All,

In North America... the transmission of the COVED-19
Virus... is insidiously difficult... if not downright impossible...
to detect.

The infection rate shall soon be seen to be... exponential...
as the rate of confirmed cases is growing in momentum by
the day... and with no end... presently in sight.

Though I am never one to run and hide... but... perhaps...
the most rational course... that any of us could undertake...
is simply... to play our pipes and drums in our backyards...
and share a pint or two o' the Guinness there... and thereby
perhaps further lower the risk of... inadvertently... spreading
the pathogen... because right now... nobody knows who is
carrying it... and who is not...

The next 30... 60... 90 days... is going to see a severe upturn
in cases... and anything that any of us can do to help mitigate
our present public situation... will be of benefit... to us all.

I shall miss Saint Patrick's Day!!... and the joy of the music...
so perhaps next year... we can make up a bit... for this one...

With Regards, and Wishing Good Health... for All,

Pip01

We had two events booked, one of which is a restaurant where we've been playing at St. Patrick's for over 50 years. That one was cancelled. The other, at this point, is still on.

PSU has announced courses going online and no large gatherings. Believe Oregon is set to announce the same statewide for gatherings larger than 250 like a parade.

Cancelling all the "fun"

But why is it that we still have to go to work?

Hypocrites and hysteria. Plays well in MSM.

Actually, a number of large employers have sent people home to work online as well, and most of the confirmed cases in my state are linked to a conference at Biogen- so people who got it at work, more or less.

Most of the NY/NJ parades are being rescheduled to September...a much better situation with likely glorious weather...a distinct improvement from ghastly March conditions.

Bubonic Plague and the Spanish Flu arrived through the back door, and took out walls and rooves when they left.

Epidemiologists and medical scientists have been professional about their concern with Covid-19. It is world-wide, and not related to any country's domestic polarization or politics.

Cancelling parades and crowded pub crawls is wise. Maybe this will blow over. But maybe the contagion will shoot up exponentially. What it might become is the whole issue. Experts do NOT know, but punters do.

Drink boiled Guinness, everyone--Covid-19 doesn't like heat!
