Aye, a bit like yer man from Korn. Forget his name, but I think he 'played' the pipes on Shoots and Ladders.

Robert Mathieson
David Barnes

Two great Pipe Majors. Huge respect to Barnaby Brown too, not enough highland pipers know of him in the pipe band scene.

In our region, Colin MacKenzie, instructor, composer, judge. Jeff Brewer, instructor and judge, former P/M of Clan Macleay PB and co-founder, main instructor of Sir James McDonald Junior Pipe Band (who placed 3rd in The Worlds in G4 Juvenile).

Of famous people in other areas who (supposedly) play pipes, the Property Brothers, Jonathan and Drew Scott.

I was lucky enough to play under Davey for a couple of seasons and it was one of the best experiences of my life, an incredible musical education.

P/M Hance Gates
P/M (Alexander) Gordon Asher
P/M Iain McLeod
& Ken Stott.....albeit as an actor and not as a piper, which he is.

Thanks for the replies all! Look forward to hearing more pipers and maybe stories

I recall finding a youtube channel called "piperblackpart" who turns out to be a man named John Partanen. Doing my research here, apparently, he is pretty well known in his area. I think he could count. As I said in another thread I was swept away by his ethereal drone tone.
