Mike, how cool is that? You're internationally famous!!!

So, that's you on the left, second table from the front?

I was in the same workshop group, but they didn't take any pictures of meeee... hmph...

Hope all is well in Austin and I'll be cheering for Silver Thistle to pull in some 1's this upcoming season!

Cheers,
Deanna

As am I. I'm in the drumming picture with John Fisher with his arms stretched towards his back. It's on the MWPBA blog.

Before you even ask, yes I'm a piper who occassionally drums.

Mary, I think you are AMAZING!!! I love the fact that you are a piper AND a side drummer! I sat behind you in the morning and then beside you in the afternoon. (I was the one uttering swear words along with you as we struggled through the Scottish Power score with Barry. You know the one I'm talking about!) The score looked easy when he first handed it out. Yeah, right!! It was fun, though, and it certainly stretched my boundaries mentally and physically... * mumbling * freakin' hands won't do what I want them to do.

I've recently had thoughts of taking lessons on the chanter. I am a drummer at heart, so please no comments on the forum like, "oooooh, she's switching over to the other side". I like the idea of becoming a better drummer by learning another instrument; one that my primary instrument is so closely tied to.

You gave me inspiration, Mary! THANK YOU!!! I'll look forward to seeing you again at Winter Storm 2007, if not sooner! Until then, I'll get to work on the chanter with an experienced piper, as well as work on my competition scores for the drum corps and my solo scores. Oh... the fun never stops!!

Internationally famous? Isn't that generally abbreviated to infamous?? Among pipers and drummers it's appropriate.
