I record my piping adventures (successes and failures alike) on my youtube channel here

I always delight when I come across some sheet music that lets me use either of the these extra 2 notes ;)
Brilliant Peter. Had a look at your Youtube videos. How do you record the harmony - Teviotside?

Ta will

Thanks! Here's my gear/process for recording with harmonies.
  • I have a 15" MacBook Pro with a Blue Snowball mic hooked up.
  • First, record video/audio of melody with iMovie using the Facetime camera and external microphone
  • Then, export audio-only of that recording my Dropbox folder
  • Then, playback the melody audio using another program or device (as you can see, I have headphones on in the harmony inset) and play the harmony part to accompany my own playing of the melody. Also record this with iMovie
  • Assemble final product in iMovie
  • Export to YouTube

I did the same thing for Danny Boy as well as an experiment of audio-only recordings of a tune I just got - a 3-part version of The Gael (It's very rough - I'm basically sight-reading each part - this was just a proof of concept)

Hope that helps, but feel free to ask more questions if you need!
