Default Lawrence Thompson Uilleann pipe bags

Hello,

I need contact information for the purchase of a Lawrence Thompson Uilleann Pipes bag.

Also, I have seen, and searched, for the name both as Thompson, and Thomson. Which is correct?

Might you assist?

Sincere thanks,

A.C.

Last I heard he wasn't making them anymore. Same with GHB sheepskins.

Hi,

Thanks for your comment.

If you are correct, that his pipes bags are no longer available, might you know of another source for a bag at a similar level of quality?

All the best,

A.C.

Not familiar with the bags from Thompson but for quality bags I would give Michael MacHarg at The Wee Piper in Vermont a try.....

Hello,

I have spoken with Michael, but unfortunately, he now makes bags only with riveted assembly, and I am looking for a stitched bag.

Thanks for any further thoughts,

A.C.

Other than the esthetics, what would the difference be?

Best wishes.

Could we confirm whether or not this is true before repeating it? This is someone's business we're talking about.

I have no idea personally but spoke with someone who does business with him quite regularly very recently and there was no mention of retirement.

Hello,

Your comment brought a smile...

So, one would guess you don't like the look of rivetted pipe bags, without considering if they may indeed work as well or better than stitched bags and perhaps last longer as well? One would think an attractive bag cover would render that irrelevant
