We're trying something new here, and as always we'll ask for co-operation and understanding as we attempt to 'fine tune' a forum that is completely new.
The plan: There are many places where we can find a single person's view / review, but here we hope to have threads with the views of many - thinking this will be much more valuable that a single person's opinions.. Please start a new thread for each CD, DVD, Music Book, Tape, ... that is the subject of the review. Please use as the Subject the name of the CD/Book/Tape?... If the subject CD, Book, Tape ... is already being discussed in a thread, then add to that thread.. Please do not have multiple subject CD, Books, etc. in a thread.. If you have positive or negative comments, please try to explain them. Please don't get personal, or offended, and try to keep everything at a very respectful level. It is possible, I think, to explain why you don't like a track, CD, Book, etc.. without offending - and we ask that you attempt to do so. With any luck we'll have lots of views / opinions added to threads so a set of comments of any reasonable sort, from any reasonable person, should be just fine.. Also - we have discussed a bit of this plan in the Forum Related: http://www.bobdunsire.com/CGI-BIN/ul...6&t=000192 And I will thank you in advance ![]() Oh boy ![]() ![]() |

Bob,
With time, the list of topics is going to be hard to read. Could you define a standard for the title of the topic? I'm thinking of something like: Format - Title - Artist/Composer - Year E.g. CD - Unplugged - Field Marshall Montgomery Pipeband - 2002 CD - 25th Glenfiddich Piping Championship - various - 1999 Book - Scott MacAulay Collection - S. MacAulay - not dated Eric

I think that is an excellent suggestion Eric.
We'll ask that the topic /subject be identified as you suggest - And the moderator will go back and make the change where needed.. |

I'm presuming Forum rule 2 applies here too;
The bobdunsire.com forums are for reasonable and responsible discussions of the Highland Arts (for lack of a better word) of Piping, Drumming, Dance, and other related topics. Without exception, rumours about products, organizations, or people will not be allowed.

Yes - to both..
Piping related or including piping - recordings, books, etc. Not hardware, components, or part - we have the Technique & Instrument Forum for those things.. |

<Sigh>
A Request to Review Writers: When writing your reviews, could you please break them into shorter paragraphs and leave a blank line between paragraphs? For really good examples, look at all Bob's posts (e.g., the lead-off post in this thread). I've about gone blind trying read some of these reviews. (And we all know there's much better ways to go blind! ![]() White space is good! Thanks, Ken |
