Default Paid not to play!

Fast and Furious movie chiefs paid Edinburgh street pipers 8,000 not to play during filming

Hmmm. I want that opportunity! Make money for going home and relaxing!

I once was hired by a very nice young couple to play at their wedding reception. I played one tune and the bride came up and asked me to stop. It turned out that her grandmother HATED bagpipes. So the bride thanked me for my time, made sure I had my check, and said no more piping would be required. That was some of the easiest money I ever made.

Hmm...

There are some over here... whom we might gladly
wish to compensate... for their not playing...
(Just a thought... :)

A couple of weeks ago, I found a quiet spot to check my pipes with a few tunes

Two security guards then appeared to mention that I was interrupting a film shoot in a nearby stately home big style and would I mind.......

I had a good chat with them as they were both ex military as well

No incentive wad of dough offered to make me disappear though

Must have been a low budget film.

In the days when I busked a lot in England I have had this happen twice, once in London and once in Canterbury. Can't remember the amount in London but it was ten pounds in Canterbury. That time it was the BBC and I have regretted ever since that I didn't negotiate a proper contract so that would get paid repeat fees every time I did not play on TV.......

Yeah. You need to camp out at Highclere Castle - the Downton Abbey tea budget should be able to handle a pesky piper. Failing which, they can write you into the scene where they welcome the Queen
