Default Pipe Band Research

Hi everyone, Iím collecting research on pipe bands for marketing purposes and Iím making a list of pipe bands in Canada, United States, Britain (Ireland, Scotland, England and Wales), Australia and New Zealand. Iím looking for the following information on different bands:

Pipe Band Name
Email Address
Website Address
Mailing address (Address, City, Prov/State, Country and postal code)

If you help me out by posting your bands information, that would be great.

There was a great world map of pipebands maintained by someone on here a few years back. A Google search didn't turn it up but maybe someone knows where it is. It may be a bit outdated but would likely be a good starting place. There is also a partial list on Wikipedia.

Good luck with it,
Kevin

That map might have been at Pipe-Band.com or some such. It looks to be shut down but it had a great list and highland games too. There was a thread on this site - I wonder if the owner might still be a member and have the info?

My current location & state of residence (exit 50 in I-10 in Mississippi), does not really lend itself well to the development of a Pipe Band. In the 3 most populous coastal counties there are 6 pipers and one student that I can name. Then it is 90 miles north to find a very decent Church based Pipe Band and then another 100 miles north to find a very scattered Pipe Band.

100 miles West in New Orleans the Fire Department stood up a Pipe Band about 1 year ago, along with the existing Kilts Of Many Colors. And one just North of Lake Pontchartrain that I'm aware of. 60 miles east in Mobile County, I'm aware of one piper. Then you go to Pensacola Florida to find another one.

Another issue is development of Scottish Drummers, trained drummers almost invariable are developed along the line of Drum Corps.

Conversely in New York (state, and city), Connecticut, New Jersey, and Massachusetts you can't fart without a rouge piper suggesting a stronger reed for your chanter.

It might help if you were to tell us what "marketing purposes" you are collecting the information for so we can decide if it would be something we would be interested in or if its just going to contribute to the ton of spammy, unwanted emails that already tend to show up in the band's inbox?

I'm one of those pipers from Massachusetts, and I know dozens of others, and none of us are known to wear makeup, let alone rouge.

Lumping Ireland into Britain doesn't help much either.
