We mark another sad day on earth for us, yet it was another glorious day for Heaven. Godspeed Bob, and we'll do our best to keep you and your family in our prayers. Someone should pen a tune, don't you think?

Still trying to come up with the right words and still not able. I've erased a few posts that turned into rambles, but two points kept recurring:

Bob was such a "presence" on the forums I feel little orphaned myself in his passing. Did he really keep the whole piping world sorted out and "playing nice" or did we just imagine it?

His name really did turn into a household word, at least in piping households. His name is synonymous with with this place and this place is synonymous with piping information. How often at band practice or the games have you heard something like "It's true; I read it on Dunsire last night." And everyone knew what it meant. "Posting it on Dunsire" or "reading it on Dunsire" are phrases as familiar in the piping world now as, well, taping a chanter.

God rest his soul and comfort his family.

My sincere condolences to the Dunsire family. I had the pleasure of spending some time with Bob at the Seattle Highland Games in 2003 and 2004. I enjoyed talking to him because he was an innovator. His ability to think big has brought the entire piping world together.

I never had the chance to meet Bob and from all the kind words expressed on here by those who did, it is a deep sadness that I didn't. As stated on here earlier, these forums are a great legacy that he left behind which has allowed many of us in the pipe band world to get to know each otherwhen we might not have otherwise done so.
Rest In Peace Bob, and to his family my deepest condolensces and just know that he has gone on to a better place.

Just watched the video. Being the father of three girls, the end really got to me. Sure looks like Bob got his money worth out of his 53 years.God Bless.
