My most current ear worm is not too unpleasant, as I'm attempting to get the tune down cold for future performance. I'm just content that it isn't a Dennis (the Worm) Rodman sized problem...

This morning, woke up to a head full of
'Flower of Scotland', tune AND lyrics (Corries).

Do I have a winner?

Any time I DON'T have pipe music floating in my head when I wake up, is a sign I haven't been practicing as much as I should...

The worst earworm I ever had: I dreamed up a sonata for kazoo and triangle……

… it was a humdinger

I find myself encouraged to discover that...
and apparently... I am not in this leaky ol'
boat... by myself... :)

My present one... and that gave rise to my
query... is a very old one... both tune and
song... that I picked up... Light Years ago...
while serving with some ANZAC Allies...

"My lover waits for me
Underneath th' bright blue sky,
Where the dog sits on the tucker box,
Five miles from Gundagai."

A good song... and good tune, that... and
plays well on the pipes... if anyone wishes... :)

Just woke up with it... and with me still.... :)

I think of it as a way of practicing. Going over tunes in the heid, even when not necessarily welcome, keeps me working on new additions to my repertoir and keeping old tunes fresh.

I dread the day that the "diddly dee" in my head goes away.

Happens all the time, with rock songs and piping tunes, depending on which instrument I'm playing the most that day. I think it happens to a lot of musicians.
