Default 1998 Kron Medallist?

What do you unwashed bagpiperians think its worth? Un-carved,never needed to tape it - ever - sterling silver bell. Best chanter Ive ever played. Almost hate to part with it, but a trade in the works may necessitate it, or serve as a bargaining chip.

Mods. Its been a while since Ive been on here actively, and I guarantee you I'm not "fishing." I wouldn't sell it by itself ever. It just may have to come with a trade, and I'd like some good input...Thanks.

Silver bell (top) or sole (bottom)?

What number is the chanter? They underwent some redesign at one point.

The number will be scribed on the bottom of the chanter foot. If the number is 500 or higher you have the latest Medalist design. This is the one that is most sought after as the earlier ones had some issues.

Not a medallist. Doesnt help my case for a trade much, but, hey cant win them all. I found out they (Medallists)weren't made until 2001..No inscribed numbers. Regardless, it's still one of the sweetest sounding chanters I've ever played. .

I didn't know that - you learn something new on this site every day. Mine is a really nice chanter and is number 1742!

I have a later Kron plain Blackwood Chanter, chanter which has a very pleasant tonal quality, I needed to replace the original from 1994 after it split ( My stupidity in many regards) but they did note the original blackwood chanter had a flaw many might over look entirely. A small resin filled knot near the knob.

Overall, I'm quite happy with the chanter, and enjoy it as it is. Plain, simple and not ever in need of silver polish.
