Some sad news, both the Piping Times and Piping Today have ceased publication.
With no competitions or piping events to report on, it was, perhaps, inevitable. As most of you will know, the Piping Times had been going since 1948.

It's sad to see another print publication bite the dust, especially one that delivered news of interest to the piping world. For us luddites who don't have internet at home, print media is highly valued and disappearing quickly. Blessings to all who made those magazines possible for so long!!

A great shame, and undoubtedly a loss to future generations. The piping world needs at least one journal of record. Internet news sites are all very well but archiving is haphazard and technology moves on. Some of the sites that have been around for a while are nigh on impossible to navigate with older content.

Thanks Adam. This is really sad news. Where are we going to find carefully crafted articles about piping history and tradition now? I have a keen interest in piping history and it is difficult to find published articles on piping history even now. Also, for future generations - where are they going to find information about piping in their past?
Sad times. will |
