Default Allan MacDonald on Smallpipes

I know this isn't the video section of the forum, but I think it's of particular interest to people on this part of the forum.

http://video.google.com/videoplay?do...96335271980549

He starts about 29 minutes in. The sound quality while he's talking is not great. But it's worth getting a set of headphones and having a listen.

Allan does a bit of singing while playing. He also talks a bit about how he thinks piobaireachd was meant to be played. And plays a bit of it as well.

I can't possibly get enough of Allan MacDonald.

Nate, thanks for posting that video. The sound was very good actually for his pipes however not for singing , I couldn't understand a word of it...grin

He was playing only two drones? I couldn't really tell but the sound and his playing...wow.

Was the board fence up to keep the authorities from identifying the
perpetrators?

I do think posting non GHB videos in this section of the forum is appropriate as some of us don't search the rest of the forum that carefully.

I did notice that as has been discussed before that on the strathspey he didn't use the same types of doublings etc that would be traditional for GHB.

It was a long video but well worth skipping through to hear Allen MacDonald play.
Thanks again

Allan has been out here twice to teach and I'm always shocked by how few pipers show up for it.

Hello and happy new year Nate,

The link for this video isn't working any longer. Do you know where I can find it?

Thanks,

Kyle
