Default Synthetic reed in BP chanter?

I'm looking for a synthetic reed that will work with a Piper's Choice Border Pipe chanter, but there doesn't seem to be many options out there. I've tried Piping Pal/Bagpipes Galores reed, and it sounds well enough, but I can't get a true scale in the correct pitch.

I just read that Malcolm MacLaren recommends his synthetic GHB reeds for BP chanters as well, anoyone tried it to good effect?

Any other options to consider?

Have you tried making reeds using the instructions in "More Power To Your Elbow"? Jon Swayne makes synthetic reeds for his Lowland and Border pipe chanters, and there bare a few other makers' "recipes" in that book. I'm sure Synthetic GHB reeds would work in some BP chanters, but not in others.
Does Piper's Choice offer replacement reeds?

Thanks, yes I suppose reed making is an option, but for me a last resort. Piper's Choice supply only cane reeds with their chanter and it's to unstable for me as I play mouth blown. I'll contact Mr Swayne and see what he has to offer, thanks for the tip!

Any other makers out there?

I sent an odd boarder pipe chanter to Michael Mac Harg a few years ago and he made a couple of nice synthetic reeds for me.

Also, Seth Hamon lists synthetic chanter reeds. I have his small-pipe cane chanter reeds which are very high quality.
