Default Bagpipe Writing Software for Mac?

I made the leap from PC to Mac last fall and am loving it. My only regret was having to leave behind Piobmaster. I need a Mac-compatible program where I can typeset some tunes and exercises. What are my best options?

Also, is there any hope of a Macintosh version of Piobmaster?

Thanks,

Matt Pantaleoni

CelticPipes works well on the Mac. I also use Sibelius with a plugin for embellishments.

Hi Matt

There is an application Muse Score which is free and is just as good as Sibelius; I find it easy to use and the quality of the output very good.

Will see you in the summer if you are across

... or you could just install Windows on the Mac.

I have used MuseScore, although I don't remember if it can handle bagpipe embellishments.

I doubt it can do everything that Sibelius can, but am not an expert in either software program.

Celtic pipes is what my band uses. Works on both Mac and PC. No where near as fast as BMW once you have learned the programing, but it works.

Musescore is pretty flexible, so I'd expect you could typeset pretty much anything.

Playback leaves a little to be desired.

Personally, I'm still very happy with abcm2ps, which will run just fine on Mac etc.

+1 for CelticPipes... very easy to use and the printed result is lovely.
