Sandy, it is my understanding that the Arkansas Scottish Festival in Batesville, Arkansas will again offer sanctioned band contests in 2011.

Now that we have a solid foundation of solo contests going, we need to find a way to increase the number of such band contests within our branch. What are the chances of Arlington requesting sanctioning for bands next year?

Looking at the list of bands entered it looks like a good payday for local bands.

Seems a couple of the top grade 3's aren't going. It is pretty far for some.

don't see it yet either, but the entry form does have "Check website for posted band times. Draw to be pre-determined by EUSPBA and posted on www.EUSPBA.org," so you have to figure that will be coming.

welpage,

I believe your mistaken. That is the list of bands that are coming not the draw. We are still waiting for that and times as to when bands are playing.

There is a schedule on the page listed several posts above...click the link that says "Band Schedules." One problem however is that it does not list GIV Medley Times yet on the Excel sheet that opens.

This is not 100% confirmed, but it appears that only the top 6 bands in the QMM will be allowed to play Medley in the afternoon. If you are placed 7-12 in the morning, then you are done for the day, and can be an armchair judge for the top 6 finishers in the Medley contest.

It clearly states on the entry form that bands are REQUIRED to play in both events.

*Prize monies will be awarded by EUSPBA to the winner of the combined results. Bands are required to play in both events.
