Default Worlds Grade 1 tunes

As long as the Worlds CDs and DVDs were being made it was easy to look up the tunes that were played in the Grade One Finals.

Is there a single place you can look up the tunes from recent years?

Thanks!

yes they give who played and where they placed but not what tunes they played, at least from what I've seen.

That might do the job, maybe I need to figure out how to adjust the filters.

For the 2015 and 2016 Words it only gives one band for each, for the 2017 Worlds it gives a few bands.

I don't know how to get it to show all the bands in the Grade One Finals for each year.

Basically, they all played Highland Wedding, Susan Macleod, and John Morrison of Assynt House.

Glad I could help.

Sad to say, you're very close to the truth!

The reason I would like to know the post-DVD tunes is that back in 2007 I had compiled a list of all the Marches, all the Strathspeys, and all the Reels played in the Grade One Finals going back to 1991.

It was just one of those Rainy Day things, but I learned much from it. For example that the March repertoire is around twice the size of the Strathspey repertoire, and the Reel repertoire is smaller yet.

Now that I'm under virtual House Arrest, I thought I would update the list with the new tunes that had been played since 2007, but I was only able to get up to 2014.

BTW in that time four new Marches appeared, and two new Strathspeys.

As of 2007 John Morrison of Assynt House was only the third-most popular reel, but from 2008 to 2014 it became very popular, though still in no danger of overtaking Mrs MacPherson of Inveran which has long been #1.

The flip side of Highland Wedding > Susan MacLeod > Mrs MacPherson of Inveran would be things like:

Pipe Major J McWilliams > The Doune of Inverlochy > Dr MacPhail (each tune only played once 1991-2014)

PM's of the bands of that era need to be called out for their ghastly repetitive tune selection as cited...turned a lot of folks off from caring about the Worlds anymore.
