Word has it that the LA Scots played 23 pipers but had a double toning bass drone on the intro that spoiled their performance, but Sunday they won 2nd in piping for the MSR.

Any recordings available?

Piping Score is doubled. If the judge has you 1st in Piping, 2nd in ensemble and drumming, then your score is 1-1-2-2. Or if you are SFU, your score is 1-1-1-1. thumb

Brad Kawamura will have(or may already finished) recordings for Sunday's contest. If you'd like one you can email him at bak1176@yahoo.com. Saturday's was done, then Sunday he had a computer glitch that got him backed up.

I will hopefully have solo results up in the next week or two. We were blessed with an ungodly number of soloists this year, . It was nice to have so many enter, but it made it an administrative nightmare.

Also, for anyone who may have heard about Andrew Bonar, he suffered a blown blood vessel on the outside of his brain on Saturday. He was playing his MSR solo and started to pass out. Terry Lee took him to first aid, then to the hospital where they ran a bunch of tests and eventually ran a catscan on him. He complained of severe pain in his head, neck and shoulders. They found the burst vein, but said it wasn't too serious, and wasn't a stroke. They sent him home Monday with the rest of the band and told him to get an MRI there. He was given some medications and told to rest on Sunday and Monday morning before his flight.

Thanks for the info on Andrew. I was there when he went down and it was really kinda scary. Glad to hear it wasn't too serious!

I heard he still got 2nd place in the MSR. What an amazing piper!!
