We got a funny one this year at the WUSPBA Championships...

"Thanks for playing...."

I still chuckle.

I had a nice one this past summer, and if I recall properly, from Embro:

"Good technique, lots of good work coming through in the tune, but bars 7 and 8 of each part suck."

Two things.

First, nameless ensemble judge (piper) wrote "Bass tone not good". He wrote it in the first sentance. The last sentance says "Nice bass tone". What's up with that?

The other story was nice. My juvenille band from Vermont drove to Georgia for the Stone Mountain games. Jon Quigg wrote at the bottom of the score sheet "Thanks for making the trip". It was just funny to see.

I only competed one season in drumming...did fairly well too... :humm:

The first thing written on the sheet...

"Aren't you a piper?"

Cheers,

We got this one comment, I believe it was from Chris Hamilton, at the Celtic Classic last month... something to the effect of "very vanilla" ... there was also a little smiley face on the sheet.. Interesting... very interesting

"Lead Drummer should smile more."

That was during my "intense" phase way back when, shortly after making the transition from DCI to Pipe Bands... what can I say?

Wasn't that from Jim Mora of the Indianapolis coach....

When asked about execution at a press conference he said....

"I'm all for it".

Jim King said to me in the bar after judging the branch solo drumming "It's, By The Right Quick March! not Ready Steady Go!" I think he thought i played a little bit on the fast side.
