I found a tenor drum stick at Turriff after the British Championships in 2004. I still have it if anyone wants to claim it. It's nae use to me.

I get alot of requests for matching in lost silver caps off of pipes. Pipers get to the end of a parade and notice a cap missing. I could use one right now if anyone found a thistle silver cap for a 1968 Henderson! It was likely lost 25 years ago in the eastern USA if that helps narrow it down!!

hmmmm...

slightly sceptical...

The typical case is: we've found or lost a local item.... that only a limited portion of our worldwide membership would have relevant contacts for...

it's the reverse of needle in a haystack...

I would alternatively encourage each Pipe Band Association to put a lost and found page on their respective websites...

what got lost or found .... probably got lost at their specific games.... and notification thereof should go out most effectively to their membership bands... and individual members...

maybe a lost/found section in each of the general membership broadcast e-mails.

At any rate... I would encourage losters and founders to exhaust local resources before posting on our "international" 9000+ member forum.

just my thoughts,

Rich

Oops - I had sort of left this open.

My 'plan' for this is now a non action. (going the lazy way? - naw... :humm: )

Thanks for suggestions and comments here, PMs and email notes. I think it is as Rich succinctly stated, something most reasonable handled at a more local level.

Thanks again for the comments.
