All of the tunes mentioned so far... and don't forget PM Sam Scott, Angus MacKinnon, Bonawe Highlanders, Ishabel T. MacDonald, The Sweet Maid of Mull, and Ballochyle, and...
So many 6/8s so little time. And far too few 6/8s in the solos! There should be more!

My band plays two 6/8s as our competition march set, Murdo Mackenzie of Torridon and 10th HLI Crossing the Rhine. Both are great tunes and the judges were happy to hear something a little different.

Hi Scot.

Happened to come across your thread while poking around. You may have already chosen something but in case you haven't ........ how about "Lord MacPherson of Drumochter." A big strong "kick**" tune in B minor.

See ya Tuesday at band.

Bruce

Don't forget that the kick-a**-ness comes from the playing.
The one that the student enjoys most, I believe, is the one that is going to kick a**.

Dr. Ross combined with Pipe Major Donald McLean of Lewis and Jean Mauchline.
