Default Shepherd vs McCallum Chanter: Which one gets more chicks?

Mccallum. Easily reeded and tuned, and very stable. Shepherd is a close second though. Difficult decision indeed. You kidding me? Sinclair gets all the chicks. At least I hope so...

Cheers,

Austin

Here are my observations of the two.

Shepherd - quite easy to reed, great volume, excellent tone suitable for both band and solo work, smaller holes (vs. the McCallum band chanter the MKIII, the MKII has only slightly bigger holes)

McCallum - the king of volume, works with nearly 100% of the reeds on the market, bigger holes (if you go with the band version)

Either of these would be an excellent choice. As for chicks, well does she like it loud or REALLY loud?

Nice comments here. I certainly noticed the power of the McCallum. But the Shepherd seems to have slightly better playability.... It's tough, it's very tough.

If both are same in every way just get someone who is not a piper to point to one then choose the other.

This might be the best way to decide I've seen yet!

Which one compliments them on their choice of clothing and buys them dinner? That'll be the deciding factor.

No bagpipe seems to get me any chicks but I suspect the Mrs. Allen may have something to do with that. Then again Naill did get me one...

My plastic band-issue Warmac chanter was a weapon of miss distraction when I busked round Germany as a student

You're a sick man, Patrick.

I don't know about McCallum, but my Shepherd chanter gets me lots of chicks. Frankly, it can be kind of annoying. Sometimes I just want to play and not be bothered, but oh well, I'm not going to stop playing that chanter.

I had thought about making an even sicker joke about chicks liking a good Naill(ing), but common decency prevented me from doing so.
