Default Remove shine from your Prince Chas lapels

Anyone have a non-destructive secret to minimizing or removing the shine off jacket ‘satin’ lapels? Some is wear and tear from drones and or silver.

Try doing a search on "removing shine from clothes"

Polyester (probably your 'satin') can be a problem,
but many of the hints resemble :

I'd try something like that before moving on.

From memory, approaches reported to be effective,
all involve vinegar, but the above is, perhaps, the
least intrusive, as a first method to try.

Good Luck

Perhaps consider applying a new layer of satin or other appropriate material to the lapels...I've done it with other jackets using fabric glue...not so hard....or, a light wiping of black shoe polish.

This may not be the same issue, but I thought I'd mention - I've had issues with satin lapels discoloring as they age, especially with all the sunlight exposure while performing. I'd looked for solutions (replacement/repair) but didn't find any worthwhile.

So when I decided to buy another Prince Charlie, I talked to our Scottish Treasures folks and they suggested getting a jacket with Barathea (cloth) lapels, the same fabric as is used for the jacket. I did, it looks just great, and it's not discoloring with all the playing I do outside. I'm happy with this solution, but it is a bit pricey to have to replace the jacket.

A tailor should be able to reface them easily enough.

Most reliable dry cleaners should be able to remove it.
