Default Scotland Photos - Name those 1980s PBs!

So I was digging through photos at my 93-year-old grandmother's house while there for the big Thanksgiving Day gathering. I found some photos taken by my grandfather of some kind of parade in Scotland. I can't date them exactly, but the trip must have been taken between 1982 and 1986.

Here are links to the photos:
Photos at Photobucket

There are seven photos of four bands. The photos are labeled Band 1-4.
(The photos could be clearer, but they are scanned from 3-1/2"x5" snapshots.)

Now . . . NAME THOSE BANDS!

Andrew

p.s. I'm curious about the location too, if anyone knows.

Definitely not Glasgow Police, there are short people in the band!

Definitely not 1970s. Also in that roll of photos is my uncle and his soon-to-be third wife—they were married in the 1980s! Push comes to shove, I could ask and pinpoint the year, but they will fit the dates outlined in my first post, 1982-1986.

Thanks,
Andrew

That band #4 is wearing coatees, not doublets. I can't recall seeing the Glasgow or Edinbugh Police wearing those. Also, in one photo you can just see some of the feather bonnet dicing and it doesn't look like police dicing.

One band is rather rag-tag, with some people in doublets, some in Argyll jackets, and one drummer in a normal Saxon jacket.

The 80s in Edinburgh?

Different tartan from that worn by Woolmet and Danderhall, difinitely not Regular Army or TAVR bands, not school bands and certainly not the Lothian & Borders Police. Tartan is not that worn by Currie either. Nor are they the Edinburgh Post Office nor the Lothian & Borders Fire Brigade.

Glencorse?
Penicuik & District?
Bonnyrigg?
Dalkeith?
