I had "HAGGIS" for a number of years here in Ohio until they got a wee bit costly. Looking for "Smoke" now but someone has it for now.

Mine is DEF PIPR. I work in SW Philadelphia, one of the toughest neighborhoods in Philly. I can't tell you how many times people have come up to me as I was getting in my car asking me if I was selling crack cocaine. It stopped after I got some bagpiper stickers for the car.

"FLAT F"
"ABWVPOLY"
"AIS480"
"NOTBFLAT"
"IBLOSHEP" (Ok, maybe that one could be misunderstood)
"CANE4ME"
"IBLOCANE"
"EUSPBA"

To me a vanity plates are kind of like a tattoos. No matter how clever they seem at the time at some point in the future you'll regret getting it.

That said, my favorite by far was my friend Seamus' "TACHUM". The plate was simple yet mysterious and bold - kind of like the car's occupant.

Why regret it?

AND.....interestingly enough, my Alaska plate is "TACHUM"......

In Montana my plate was "B MEL O" . I've never ever regretted getting either of them!!

Quite a few years ago I had the idea of getting one of these vanity/cherished plates...
I went to a Motor Vehicles Dept office and they had a book that contained every plate already issued in California.
To my surprise, EVERY piping-related thing I could think of, and many I couldn't, was already taken, including every obscure piping term and dozens of Gaelic words and phrases. I was amazed. That ended my quest for such a plate.
