Default MacPherson/Sinclair pipes in the '70s

Hi,

Do anybody know if Hugh MacPherson/Sinclair pipes were made of other wood sorts like laburnum, Brazillian rosewood, etc. during the 1970'ties?

I have a set that's not made from abw, but some lighter wood. Drones are well-made and have the typical drone profile of the mentioned makers and the typical curve inside the cord grooves.

The pipes have been refurbised by Mark Bennet, have a look on BenMhar's facebook page for pictures.

I know that for a while Sinclair used maple, with some kind of imitation horn mounts. You could ask him, he would know.
I would love to hear such a set and see some pictures.

It seems that the drones are made from Burmese blackwood, Brazilian rosewood or East Indian Rosewood.
