Default STOLEN pipes, chanters, etc: D Niall, half silver pipes .. please be on the lookout!!

This was posted on the Bagpipes for Sale or Swap group on Facebook yesterday (Aug. 1, 2017). https://www.facebook.com/groups/380347262034827/

Please lookout for these pipes, and if you see a set for sale matching the pictures/description, contact this poor fellow, so that he can hopefully get his instrument back.

Thanks all.
Cheers,
~Nate

This is an all points lookout for a set of Highland Bagpipes, MY bagpipes, that were stolen from the trunk of my car yesterday at a provincial park just outside of Montreal. They were stored in a blue Mountain Equipment Co-op Backpack. Here are some of the contents of the bag:

1x David Naill #5 Half Silver set

African Blackwood with imitation ivory projecting mounts, engraved .925 sterling silver slides, ferrules and ring caps. All are engraved with a Celtic notchwork design (see photos). They are currently attached to a small banantyne zipper bag, and a green duradrill bag cover, and Royal Stewart woolen pipe cords. The blowpipe has been swapped out for a Gibson telescopic blowpipe as seen in the first image. The Blackwood pipe chanter in subsequent photos was not in the bag. The blowpipe stock has a very thin crack on the outside. The projecting mounts have a few nicks and dings.

1x McCallum polypenco pipe chanter

1x Shepherd Orchestral polypenco pipe chanter

1x Naill practice polypenco chanter

1x tuner by KORG (I forget the model, but it is white)

1x Swiss Army Knife, red in a brown leather case, for bagpipe repairs

1x plastic Tupperware box wth small items for bagpipe maintenance and repair

1x charger case for Apple AirPods minus the AirPods (I was wearing them)

I have a file with the Sűreté du Quebec, (provincial police) if you spot these pipes please do not hesitate to contact me. Basically I left my car for 2 hours for a swim and came back to find all my car doors unlocked (probably forced open with a "slim jim") and it was quite obvious that they rummaged through my véhicule. Also stolen was a pair of running shoes 👟👟 (to make a quick get away I'll assume) and a small handful of loonies and toonies 💰(...to call himself an UBER upon leaving the park? I'm not quite sure)😡

These pipes have been played at a multitude of parades, weddings, funerals and other events, and have brought me and many others a lot of joy in the last few years. They are not antiques by any means but a good solid pipe which I purchased as a "last bagpipe ever" type of investment, so yes they are a little more dear than the average set, but by no means the most "tricked out" set of pipes you can find. The other advantage is they do not have IVORY mounts so I can easily take them to the USA when I visit family, or when I go down to play in competitions, without being hassled by customs. Many have asked me "who would steal a set of pipes?" Well basically the person stole a backpack, they just didn't realize what was in it.

Thanks folks,
Jeff
