Mine is a group of them lol, all met while attending Winter Storm. Jim Kilpatrick, Craig "Hoss" Calquhoun, Mike Cole, Scott Currie, and Tyler Fry. All stellar drummers in my book and even better instructors!

james Kilpatrick MBE. He is Amazing and one of the most down to earht guys you'll EVER meet. Although Mike Cole is a whole other story, hes pretty Special too

I may be too old for this forum, but I was fortunate enough to meet Alex Duthart a few weeks before his untimely death. He was the real deal, and not burdened with any noticeable ego...

From a piper's perspective, The best drummer that i ever had the pleasure of playing with is Andre Tessier.
He is a joy to play with one on one because he can accompany a piper to any style or tempo of tune you can throw at him better than anyone i've ever met. |

I met both Buddy Rich and Max Roach, it would be a tie between them. You didn't say it had to be Highland style.
