Default The BlowHard

Has anyone tried using this apparatus? I know that old fashioned practice is the best way to build back stamina after a few year layoff from the pipes, but I'm wondering if this would be useful as well.

I think my curiosity is going to get the best of me, so I'm leaning toward ordering it. If I do, I'll come back with a review.

For those of us who don't always get time to practice, it might be a handy device to keep on our desks at work! I'm giving it some serious thought!

Ha. Nice one! Even though you caught wind of it? You can hardly stand it?

I think an adequate substitute for this....gadget....could be made using a standard screw-on bulb mouthpiece and a rubber stopper with a hole in it. Not $20.

Really the best way is to just do it. I have a Techno chanter, small pipes and the GHP's but I haven't played a PC for 3 years or since I left the band and I have a very beautiful $400 custom Dunbar PC sitting in a drawer!

It crossed my mind, though I like the reliable fine adjustment of the pressure. Sure, you could tape over the hole in the rubber stopper for adjustment, but I sense a point of likely failure!

How does this device regulate pressure? Surely it just adjusts flow?

As for its merits, I'll leave that to others.

Hmm... in Times Long Past... 'twas hard to get
The needed items for our playing.
But now, all manner of things abound,
And, are they needed? I'm just saying
They may spark a present interest, but I
Shall find myself... hard pressed... to buy.

Rather, take up the pc, and make the Time
To work... on that difficult... melody line.

This may be a fine product, though indeed,
I find myself quite bereft... of need.
