One of the main ways I promote my teaching is through running Google ads. These bring in a small but steady stream of visitors to my website, and some of them even becomes students.
Every month Google sends me a breakdown of how my ads are doing, which I don't really look at as it rarely changes much. But this graphic caught my eye, especially the summary figure at the bottom. https://imgur.com/a/uCYBN7B Are these numbers what you'd expect? Why? |

The wide disparity of the first 3 columns is...quizzical..to me. Not sure I understand the % at the top of each bar? % of what.?

My bet?
Wedding planning. (Nothing to do with learning pipes.) But, who knows, maybe I'm completely wrong and perhaps far more women are interested in learning the bagpipes than men. ![]() Andrew

![]() Interesting thought. I do run separate ads for weddings and other gigs, so search terms like "bagpipe lessons", "learn bagpipes", "how to play bagpipes" etc will end up on this graph whereas "wedding bagpipes", "hire bagpiper", etc, should end up somewhere else. |

I think adult beginners tend, in my experience at least, to be north of thirty on average. Plus this will include parents (I teach about 2/3 adults, 1/3 younger students on average) who will obviously also skew older especially by the time a kid is 8-12 years old or so. |

![]() Greetings to Calum II and to All, I am always... and pleasantly surprised... :) ... at the wide range of people... young... old... male and female... that are drawn to the music... and for what ever the reason. (We may have something here. :) Regards to All, Pip01

My interpretation of the graph: young men want to learn bagpipes. Mothers help find lessons for their sons. Older people want to learn bagpipes.
