Are we doing it again in 2008 ladies?!?!

I'm game!

I just checked and Carrie hasn't posted here since July! She was the primary organizer for the WS2K7 All Ladies Pipe Band. If she isn't available to help organize this, can we please get a volunteer to act as P/M for the WS2K8 All Ladies Pipe Band?

I am not volunteering to be Lead Tip. I do, however, have a suggestion for the drummers. It would make sense for all of us to play the same scores. Since we are all from different areas, we can pick the massed band scores from one of the PBA's and get those down before heading to Kansas City.

Not sure where all we'll be traveling from, but I just checked the EUSPBA web site and they have massed band scores available on line for 2/4, 4/4, 3/4, and 6/8 Marches. Here is the link: http://www.euspba.org/resource-music...banddrums.aspx

Once we know what the pipers are playing, we can pick the scores. It doesn't have to be EUSPBA, that's just the site I went to first. I am actually in WUSPBA but have played different PBA massed band scores. They are all very similar, so it makes no diff to me.

We need a P/M to select some tunes for the pipers!

Let's get rollin'! (so to speak)

Oh... Come On!!! Bring your drum!!! It will be worth it! If you reeeeeeallyyyy don't want to bring your drum, do you know someone that can loan you a drum and harness for the Winter Steam party? That's always another option.

Hey All!

Just heard this thread was here!

Sadly I am unable to attend this year, but I think you need to make it a tradition! A Twin Peaks Tradition! Any of you Canadian Gals-remember your Canadian Girls Drinking Team T Shirts! If you don't have one, send me a PM and I'll set you up with a picture so you can get one made up if you like!

Well, since Carrie is "ditching us"... sniffle... we need a piper to step up to act as Pipe Major for the All Ladies Pipe Band. The Pipe Major can then gather the names of any and all ladies who might be interested, then suggest a set of tunes (preferably marches that most pipers already know). Only a little over a month away, so we have limited time to get this set up.

For those who may not have participated last year, or saw the All Ladies Pipe Band last year at Winter Steam, it's just a group of ladies playing pipes and drums at the Winter Steam Party Saturday night. TONS OF FUN!!! See the winter storm web site for photos!

C'mon, ladies!! Who wants to be the Pipe Major?

Perrin,

Last year was my first time---and I was a VERY new Pipe Band participant to begin with! This is a blast. It is very simple. A group of us womints get together during the Winter Steam Party---say, 5 or so Pipers, a Bass Drummer, a couple of tenors (Dawn, are you going to be there?), some snares.....and we march into the ongoing party in the semi-dark, play 3 or 4 simple tunes, everyone cheers at our brilliance, and we each win a prize. Then we go put our instruments down and join the party. Other groups attempt to emulate our vivacious, sparkling performance, and we all clap and scream. No sweat! It really is fun, everyone enjoys it.

Come one Lady Pipers! Someone step up and give us a tune list and let's do it!
