Default Dying while piping/drumming

I hope that when it's my time, I go out piping! With the exception of pipers and drummers killed in battle, has anyone ever heard of anyone passing on while playing?

Hello,

I do beleive that the Great Alex Duthart suffered a heart attack during a Macy's Day parade to which he later died.

Cheers,
ME

My tutor almost did. Besides being P/M of our local Grade II band, he's also the chair of our Highland Games committee. A couple of years ago during the Games, he started experiencing severe chest pain, but ignored it until after the Games. The doctors later commented that they had absolutely no idea why he was still alive. Now he's got an indwelling pacemaker/defibrillator.

I don't want to go while playing my PC. I want to be standing while playing my pipes. I don't want to have a heart attack and die later. I want it to be a complete check-out in the middle of playing Little Cascade, preferably while playing in front of a crowd so folks will have something to talk about for the next few years. !

Is it just me or is this kind of a morbid post? What even made you think of this?

Personally, I'd rather just stay healthy and enjoy piping as long as the good Lord allows me.

I believe the great uilleann piper and pipemaker Leo Rowsome died while judging an Irish traditional music competition. I am told the contestant in front of him at the time was the fiddler Paddy Glackin.
