I was thinking the same thing. Glad to know how much use you're from the non-add on version.

Cheers,

I am a bit surprised by posts talking about a-pipes price:

Everybody seems to agree that $333 is an expensive price.

By an other hand, a technopipes that costs $402 is considered as cheap ?!?!? while offering very lower services.

And what about its looking ? a single plastic tube with two stubs ... not so sexy ...
Cheap looking, isn't it ?

Agreed. I wouldn't say it's an expensive price for the product ... that's not what I was saying, anyway.

But expensive purchase, sure. I'm not a pauper, but I'm not rolling in riches either. Therefore, I have to think about value and necessity regarding items that will run me hundreds of dollars and up.

I hope I wasn't communicating that the item is over priced. If so, that wasn't my intention, so please don't infer that.

I don't recall anyone saying technopipes are cheap, monetarily speaking. They are pricey; A-pipes have them beat there.

The add-ons were questioned. If there is not a perceived value in accessories because the person won't use them, they are more expensive than what one is willing to pay. I do think it is a good idea to have them as options to keep the price competitive for those of us that don't have a need.

With respect to the appearance - it is not as important to me as utility. I will never perform with this instrument; it is to replace my practice chanter to allow me to practice more because it is silent. A straight tube with optical sensors made out of a robust material that is a travel friendly size would be ideal.

Fagerstrom was helpful and responsive when my fist technopipe didn't work properly when new. And yes, it was a painful purchase, but it has helped immeasurably. I look forward to many more hours with A-pipes, as I think they are a superior instrument.
