Default Monthly Composition Thread Continuity?

I can't recall exactly who prompted this idea, but back in December at least one forum-goer had the idea to implement a monthly composition thread based on a musical fragment, rhythm, idiom, etc., We didn't have a thread for January, and I thought February might be a good time to give it a go if that's something we want to continue as a community?

IIRC, the composition thread was started as a way to promote a stronger sense of community on the forums in a time when social media platforms are quickly becoming the de facto standard for communication. If I wasn't such a newb (and also in the midst of job searching at the moment), I'd happily offer to take the deed on myself! I'll defer to the more...knowledgable folks 'round these parts.

Cheers,
Joe

I did post a January thread, but from the lack of replies I suspect my compositional prompt didn't go down quite as well as last time:

I'll try posting a February thread (and finish my half-formed effort for January) later on this week.

Just wanted to let you know that a tune-fragment popped into my head yesterday.

It might make an interesting prompt some month here, if anyone is interested.

That's excellent Richard, feel free to go ahead and post it as the "official" February thread
