OK I'm just kidding. But anyway there is really no answer to this question. Ask 25 different pipers and you will get 25 different answers. Every piper has their own opinion on what are the best pipes and everyone has a different sound that they like.

B. Mc Carthy and Sons Ltd. are by far the best!!

Oh that's right I don't make pipes. I also have only daughters.

Kind of a very subjective and ever changing question. Kind of like, which color is best?

Good luck with this one.

I'm sure that if there was one correct answer, the others would likely be out of business.

Anyway, I'd say "Other"...
or "All of the above, plus some more"

My question concerns those people that want to buy the best set of pipes from the better craftsman but the current production methods and the great demand of the product ((machines and makers can be tired), and the wood is even no one of before some years ago, is questioning the existence of genuine bagpipe makers today and of course the quality of the instruments.
... and,
one more thing... this seems to be the "Beer Tent" forum, isn't it?

We can't tell you as the information you request is a trade secret. If you were really a piper, you would know that the best pipes are made by keebler elves under the shade of the old oak tree. Gosh, I hope I haven't told too much. I'd hate to lose my piper's blue card. You do have a piper's blue card, right?
Anyway, don't take my word on it...use the "search" function on the forum. All will be revealed.

Most makers can produce a great product, some also send out some rubbish. A lot has to do with what you are looking for and most has to do with the quality of the person setting the instrument up and the peanut on the end of the blowstick!

I don't know about 'the best', but my preference are ... Nail, Henderson and Mcdougal (can't spell the last one
