I've no idea either. Still, they look nice so why bother?

Ebay $740.

That is indeed a find, congratulations! I'm not jealous at all...

I recently acquired these. I'm puzzled by the tenor bottoms which seem unusually hourglass shaped. Any thoughts on who made the tenor bottoms so narrow in the middle?

BTW, they sound great, despite missing one or two drone cap rings.

Nice looking pipes!

But really, there's less activity in this thread than I thought there would be... Is there really no one else who's bought new pipes recently? I (among with several others I'm sure) just love looking at pics of nice pipes, so make sure to post yours

I'll play. Is this past Fall recent enough? I actually traded for these pipes (the ones on the left). They are mgrure and boxwood, made by D. Macpherson. Loving them. Huge sound...

Matt

Dang, just when you think you have ordered your last set of pipes, someone posts a picture of a gorgeous bagpipe by the maker you didn't go with. Oh yeah, don't tell my wife.

I've got a Gellaitry in african blackwood with boxwood mounts, but I prefer lighter colored woods or ivory colors to pair with the dark blackwood. BUT, the boxwood with the dark brown of the mgrure looks awesome. Even sitting next to an Atherton, with the look of those and the sound I've heard from recordings of the MacPherson's, it would be an easy choice for me.

Hey Matt,

Glad you like those pipes! I enjoyed playing them very much when Shawn McDaniel was down here at my house last year. What a great stand!

Just today, I opened a package containing Lord Valdemorts 7th horcrux.... Otherwise know as Bill Carr Cane PC Reed.

Not too long ago, I opened up the Gordon Duncan Tunes Book.

The Gael 470 Chanter is quite new also.
