Default Re: Great War bagpipes - Where did they come from?

My Hendersons supposedly saw action in the Great War. I was told that they were bought by a family, used in the war, and kept in the family until the early 1990s when there were no more pipers in the family and then sold off for refurb at Dunbar or someplace of reputation in Canada.

Interestingly, there is a chunk missing out of the bass drone stock. Don't know that it qualifies for a purple heart or anything but I can't imagine everyday activity inflicting such damage to hard wood.
