Default Pelican Case for Pipes

Just wondering if anyone uses a Pelican case for their pipes and which model number you use.
I see the model 1510 Carry On Case but it measures about 2" too short to hold the drones.

I use this case for flights. Disassemble the drones completely. If you break down the bass they will fit fine. It is an awesome case that does a beautiful job protecting the pipes.

Does the basic 1510 come with just the 1" foam inside or does it have a few bells and whistles?

Mine came with two levels of foam. I left one in the bottom, carved the second to the drone shape. Bag and stocks on top.

http://www.pelican.com/cases_detail_...hp?Case=iM2500
The Pelican Storm iM2500 has more room due to thinner stronger Storm polymer and more efficient design than the older Pelican 1510. The newer Pelican Storm iM2500 is carry on size externally and larger internally than the Pelican 1510.
The Pelican Storm iM2500 may suit the piper's needs better for larger interior size, hermetically sealed controlled humidity, and even greater strength to protect the instrument.

Jim McGillivray has a humidifier and hygrometer package that would aid in travel through various climatic changes while keeping the pipes tuning stable and woods safe from cracks.

Those look sweet Mike. Googling around they are the same price as an average pipe case. Except these you can drive a truck over.

I think I need one in bright yellow. No one would accidentally grab your pipes, for sure.

I found a place out of Ottawa that sells the 1510 for $205 plus tax and shipping.
I've also found lid liner\organizers for around $40 online as well, which would be perfect for the accessories.
I have a line on a Mad Dog case which I'm going to explore first, though.

Lid Organizer for Pelican Storm iM2500 and variety of accessories.
See previous post outlining distinct advantages of Pelican Storm iM2500 over Older Pelican 1500.

A wise forumite recently stated the best most economical choice when purchasing piping items is to buy the best you can afford. These two pelican carry on cases are similar in price and one is longer to fit drones better, stronger with a newer polymer, lighter, newer engineering, and accessories are available. That case is the iM2500.

Vote with your dollars. Hope this is helpful to all.
My choice is the Storm iM2500.

God Speed,
Mike

I see about a $5-10 difference between the 2500 and the 1510 for a bigger case with more features. 2500 is definitely my choice.

I don't know about that. Someone might grab them thinking they're an optical time domain reflectometer.
