The Liamm album is a project by Xavier Boderiou along with Sylvain Barou and Antoine Lahay. It’s a piping focused album, accompanied with flutes, multiple guitars but also duduk, bansuri flutes and breton biniou.

It might be the first piping album in more than a decade to gather scottish, irish and breton music.

Liam means connections/links in breton langage : The connections are multiple: the interweaving of instruments, sounds and harmonics but also of Breton, Irish and Scottish music. This unique album highlights the Great Highland Bagpipes in its specific context in Brittany, at the crossroads of repertoires, history and stories…

Most of the tunes in this album are composed ; although, we’d like to think that these would sound like 200 years old tunes which would have been given a special experimental/jazz/modern trad music treatment.

Also, the album was recorded in Xavier’s workshop, at home.
