I have ordered it and have seen some of it but haven't gotten my copy yet. It is well worth it to me personally as a tenor drummer and Drum Corporal in our band. I am debating geting a copy for our band as well. I've trained with Tyler and his style is awe inspiring yet not for everyone. He was a side drummer while growing up so he does have the technical side down pat.

I've had the pleasure.
Both the CD Rom and DVD are first class - quality and content. If you are serious about anything you are interested in, pipe bands, football, or whatever, I don't think you can put a price on learning. I'd pay double for what you get in the TyFry package if I was learning again - any learning aid is an investment in your own development in my opinion.

Hi Robbert
I have had a copy for just over a week. In short, there has never been a learning tool like the product that Tyler Fry has developed. There have been videos in the past, some good, and some lacking in content. However this package is different, as it addresses music theory, flourish, and other elements. I teach for a living in Sydney Australia, and have been involved at developing training packages, and syllabi (both national and local). When I approach educational products such as Tyler’s CD set, it is with a defined analytical approach. On the other hand, I have been involved with bass & tenor drums for 40 years (started young), and have been involved with Grade 1 & Grade 2 bands all of that time. I am also a bass & tenor adjudicator with the NSWPBA. The Tyler Fry CD set is a focussed and informed educational product, and it is delivered by someone that is passionate about the art form of tenor drumming. You will not find anything on the marketplace that serves both raw learner and experienced tenor drummer, in the way that this package does. As Scott Currie inferred, “What price can you place on knowledge”, this is an educationally sound, and well developed training package. The sheer quality of production will reassure you that you have made a good investment, and when you start working through the lessons, you will see what I mean about the “completeness” of the instruction. Cheers Ken Maltman

Oh a lot of good sounds, i actually ordered the package last week but i was just wondering about the experiences! It sounds very well....and i agree with you that you always want to learn.
I play tenordrum since 12 years know (and i'm still learning every day), first with a grade 4 band for 2 years, after that 3a and now since last year playing grade 1 in Sco. They asked me to do the flourishing for next season so i think this dvd / cd rom can help me expanding my range of flourishes!....and to create an own style for the band! What about these flourishes, is tyler showing them step by step?.... |

Just another message, i've just received the DVD/CD rom (i ordered it last thursday...) and my first reaction.....it's very good! I think the pipe band community needed a thing like this, my compliments and congrats are going to Tyler....very good.
A good dvd / cd rom with all the basics explained on a way i ve never seen before. Very clear for a beginning tenordrummer. The combination with video and the pdf files works perfect i think. The only thing i miss maybe (but that's for part 2 of the dvd....i don't know if that;s coming ) are more flourishing examples and then especially for the more experienced tenordrummers! But for the rest, in one word GREAT! |

I recieved my copy this week and yes it is well worth the money. I've trained with Tyler a couple of times ( will again in November at Henderson Workshop, $110 US for Saturday and Sunday)and he is as excited in person as he is on his DVD.
I consider him in the TOP 5 in the Tenor World! |

Question: Would you say the video is Flourish-heavy, or rhythm-heavy?
