im still shooting for being the oldest active pipe band member in colorado. our band, west wind, practices every week. i still play weddings (a couple a year)
and funerals ( 1 every month). i have trouble keeping my pipes going so sometimes i cork off the middle drone. i hope to open the durango celtic festival thuresday night performance for 15 minutes. i will be 84 this sept.
my dunsire log in number is 224.

if anyone knows of someone older, and still in a pipe band, in colorado, please let me know.
    thanks, jim lynch

Bob Semple, City of Hawthorn (Melbourne, Australia) Drum Major, and Piper with The Rats of Tobruk (a former Rat himself) is currently 98 years old I believe! Just appeared on a postage stamp for remembrance day. Not Colorado I know, but certainly worth a mention! (and well done by the way Jim, not wanting to detract from your Stirling effort).

I plan to live longer than a certain biblical character, so far so good... but I'm yet a young piper at 61 currently.
Breaching the peace? What bagpipes officer?

I believe in the old adage 'you are only as old as you feel'
Ergo, I am the oldest living piper because I feel like I am
about 110 years of age. Simple math. lol

                Greetings to All,

I have a very good mate/friend... who was an
active... and very good drummer... well into his
far-late 80s... and is now... still in kit... as the
band's emeritus snare drummer... and as the
                band's announcer... at 92!!

I aspire to do... half as well... If I'm lucky!!
